Interested in a sober buddy?

  • Why should I call a sober buddy?

The musical profession and alcohol are tightly linked. Musical events and tours are often sponsored by alcohol companies, and many performance opportunities come from establishments whose primary purpose is to sell alcohol. In addition, musicians are often asked to promote and participate in alcohol consumption as a part of performances and their career.

Musicians in recovery, thereby, are at much higher risk of relapse due to the constant triggers than those who do not participate in the music industry.

  • What is a Sober Buddy?

A sober buddy is a Mental Health First Aid trained individual who is dedicated to supporting you in your quest to avoid breaking sobriety when you’re in a triggering performance space.

A sober buddy will nonjudgmentally listen to your problems and is there to keep you from feeling alone in a room full of people.
